Is the audio really removed?

Yes. The saved file has no audio track at all, not a silent one, so there is nothing left for anyone to turn back up.

Does the video get re-encoded?

No. The audio track is dropped and everything else is copied across byte for byte, in the same format - so it is quick, even for a long clip, and loses nothing.

Can I mute several videos at once?

Yes - drop them all in and save them one by one, or together as a zip.

Why is there a 10 MB download?

That is FFmpeg, the tool that rewrites the file without re-encoding it. It comes from this site the first time and your browser keeps it. Your video is never uploaded.
