Convert a PDF to SCORM without uploading it

Turn a PDF into a SCORM course, one page per slide - here in this tab, with nothing uploaded.

How to convert PDF to SCORM

  1. Drop your PDF in.
  2. Set the title, the SCORM version and the completion rule.
  3. Save the zip and upload it to your LMS as a SCORM package.

Why this one stays private

A PDF headed for an LMS is usually a manual, a policy or a procedure - documents a company would rather not hand to a converter site. Here the pages are drawn and packed in your own browser, and the PDF never leaves your computer.

Questions

Why not just upload the PDF to the LMS?

Most LMSs can host a PDF, but they cannot tell whether anyone read it. As a SCORM package it opens page by page inside the course, and the LMS records who finished it and where each learner stopped.

How are the pages shown?

Each page becomes a slide, drawn sharp enough for full screen, with Previous and Next, a progress bar and keyboard arrows.

Can I select or search the text in the course?

No - pages are packed as pictures, which is what makes them look the same in every browser. If the text needs to be searchable, give learners the PDF as well.

SCORM 1.2 or 2004?

1.2 unless your LMS asks for 2004: every LMS imports it, and it records completion and the last page viewed. 2004 also reports a progress percentage.

Does it work for PowerPoint too?

Yes - saving a deck as PDF in PowerPoint and dropping that here is the way to get an exact copy of its look. The PowerPoint to SCORM page also reads .pptx directly.
