Markdown to Word (.docx), without uploading it

Turn Markdown into a real Word document - here in this tab, with nothing uploaded.

How to markdown to word

  1. Paste your Markdown or drop a .md file.
  2. Pick the typeface and size for the body text.
  3. Save the .docx and open it in Word, Pages or Google Docs.

Why this one stays private

The moment a Markdown draft has to go to someone who works in Word is usually the moment it matters most - a proposal, a report, a contract. This writes the .docx in your browser, from scratch, and nothing is transmitted.

Questions

Is it a real Word file or HTML renamed?

A real one. Headings use Word's built-in Heading 1-6 styles, so the navigation pane and an automatic table of contents work straight away.

Do links still work?

Yes - they are written as genuine hyperlinks, not blue underlined text.

What happens to tables and code?

Tables become Word tables with the header row repeated across pages and the column alignment kept. Code blocks are set in a monospaced font on a tint.

And images?

Their alt text is kept in their place. Pictures themselves are not embedded.
