Convert PowerPoint to SCORM without uploading your slides

Turn a PowerPoint deck into a SCORM package for your LMS - here in this tab, with nothing uploaded.

How to convert PowerPoint to SCORM

  1. Drop your .pptx in - or the PDF that PowerPoint saves, for an exact copy of the look.
  2. Set the course title, the SCORM version and when a learner counts as finished.
  3. Save the zip and upload it to your LMS as a SCORM package.

Why this one stays private

Training decks are internal by nature: onboarding, procedures, product plans, compliance. The usual converters are an upload to someone else's server or a desktop authoring suite with a licence. This builds the package in your browser tab instead, so the slides go from your computer straight to your own LMS and nowhere in between.

Questions

What does the package do in my LMS?

It shows the slides one at a time with Previous and Next buttons, a progress bar and full screen, remembers where each learner stopped, and reports the course as completed when your rule is met: every slide viewed, the last slide reached, or a percentage.

SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004?

SCORM 1.2 unless your LMS asks for 2004. Every LMS imports 1.2, and for a slide course it records everything that matters - completion and where the learner left off. 2004 adds a progress percentage, which some LMSs show in their reports.

Will it look exactly like my PowerPoint?

From a PDF, yes - the pages are drawn exactly as PowerPoint saved them. From the .pptx itself the slides are rebuilt as web pages, which keeps text sharp and the zip small, but fonts you do not have, SmartArt and some effects come out simplified. If a slide looks off in the preview, save the deck as PDF in PowerPoint and drop that instead.

Are animations, transitions and quizzes kept?

No. Each slide is shown in its final state, with no builds or transitions, and there are no quiz questions. For those you need an authoring tool such as iSpring, Articulate or Captivate. For putting an existing deck in front of learners and tracking who finished it, this is all it takes.

What about speaker notes and narration?

Narration recorded in PowerPoint (Insert Audio or Record Slide Show) plays with its slide. Speaker notes can be shown under each slide, but that is off until you switch it on, because notes are often written for the presenter rather than the audience.

Can I convert an old .ppt file?

Not directly - the old binary format can only be read by PowerPoint itself. Open it there and save it as .pptx or PDF, then drop that here.

Is my presentation uploaded?

No. It is read and packed inside this browser tab. The only copy that goes anywhere is the zip you upload to your own LMS.
