Merge WMA files into one, without uploading them

Join several WMA audio files into one WMA - here in this tab, with nothing uploaded.

How to merge WMA files

  1. Drop your WMA files in.
  2. Put them in order with the arrows.
  3. Press Join and save the WMA file.

Why this one stays private

Joining recordings means every one of them has to be in one place. That place should be your own computer.

Questions

Can WMA files be merged without re-encoding?

Yes, when they match - files from the same camera, recorder or export usually do. They are joined as they are and saved as WMA, which is fast and loses nothing. Files that differ are re-encoded so they fit together.

Can a browser really open WMA files?

Not on its own - Chrome, Firefox and Safari cannot play WMA, which is why most in-browser converters turn WMA away or quietly upload it. This page brings its own decoder: FFmpeg, compiled to WebAssembly and fetched from this site (10 MB, once) the first time you convert. After that the WMA file is read entirely in this tab.

Do the tracks need the same format?

No. Matching tracks are joined without re-encoding; mixed ones are converted to match first. Pick the format to save the result in.

Can I reorder them?

Yes - use the arrows beside each track before joining.
